My name is Alyssa Sidebottom and I am so excited to be teaching Integrated Math 1 to the freshman students at Overton!
I was born and raised in Elizabethtown, KY and earned my Bachelor's Degree at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. I double-majored in Mathematics and Secondary Mathematics Education, and minored in Psychology. After graduating from UK, I began attending Vanderbilt University where I earned my Master's Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education.
Last year, I was the Founding Math Specialist at Valor | Voyager Collegiate Academies. I also taught Computer Coding to Valor's 5th graders.
I am passionate about empowering all students to feel successful in math and to be confident in sharing their thinking with others.
